Korean nail trends move quickly, and what you see on social media has often already been through a full cycle.
This article covers the designs our guests have actually been requesting since the start of 2026, based on what we are doing in the salon rather than a magazine round-up.
The 2026 direction: subtraction and texture
If we had to sum up 2026 in one line: fewer colours, more texture.
A few years ago the dominant look was heavily embellished. Now the impression comes from contrasts in the base itself — sheerness, gloss, matte — rather than from volume.
Where parts are used, the pattern is to place them on one or two nails rather than scattering them across all ten.
1. Glossy (jelly) finish
The sheer, plump finish continues to be a steady favourite.
The jelly-like transparency makes fingertips look elegant. Its real strength is that even a plain single colour reads as distinctly Korean once it is finished this way.

2. One-Hong nail
A design style that originated in China and spread via Korea. It is the most requested category at our salon.
In 2026 the shift has been toward muted base tones — greige, dusty blue, milk-tea beige — with mirror or bijou used as a single accent rather than throughout.

3. Mirror art
A metallic silver or gold sheen.
In 2026, the move has been away from full-nail mirror toward lines and french tips only. Covering the whole nail reads as too loud for the current mood; used as a texture accent it fits far better.
Butterfly and heart motifs drawn in mirror were especially popular through the summer.
4. 3D flowers and dimensional art
Raised flowers and ribbons remain reliably popular in 2026.
The change is placement. Where guests once asked for all five fingers, the norm now is a single accent nail, usually the ring finger. It balances more easily and catches on things far less in daily life.
5. Magnet nails
Magnetic gel shifts its pattern depending on the angle of the light.
Paired with muted colours it reads as calm rather than showy, which makes it usable in an office. We often suggest it to guests who find a single flat colour too plain but do not want anything bold.

Length and shape
Length and nail shape shape the impression as much as the design does.
In 2026 the standard is medium length in a round to oval shape. Compared with the long square shapes of a few years ago, it is easier to live with and still lengthens the finger visually.

Why you should not simply copy a trend
Having just laid out the trends, a caveat: reproducing a trend exactly is not always the right answer.
Skin tone, finger length, nail shape and your working environment all change what suits you. Even when guests bring a screenshot, we will sometimes suggest adjusting one element so that it works better on your hands.
